This is a very unique necklace. The repurposed item is purportedly a coaxial cable connector with a small bit of fiberglass at the end. I painted the fiberglass bit pink and it was transformed into a tiny tube of lipstick! I designed a pair of lips and sawed them out of sheet copper, which I then filed, sanded and polished after drilling a hole so that they could be suspended in the necklace. I added beads in shades of pink and clear, smooth & faceted and crystals were added on sterling silver wire and connected with copper wire. Closes with a S-hook clasp. Beautiful!!!
Necklace is 26", lips are 1 1/2 X 7/8 inches, lipstick is 1 X 1/4 inches total length of drop is 4 inches. Chain portion is 26 inches.
Creating Trail Trash jewelry and art with discarded items is one of the ways I contribute to keeping trails clean and unspoiled. When you purchase one of these items you are helping me in my personal endeavors and I thank you!
Trail Trash jewelry takes many different forms, but usually involves items I find along trails or hiking paths - back country, rural and urban. I clean/prepare these items and use them to create unusual yet beautiful necklaces, earrings, bracelets or other works of art.
I have made every effort to eliminate sharp edges, rough areas, and any other imperfections that could cause injury of a person or clothing. It is nearly impossible to remove every bit of these defects so please take care when handing/wearing these items.
