I created this striking necklace from a small cup shaped piece of plastic into which I inserted three feathers (two Blue Jay and one Mallard Duck). I adorned this with coiled sterling silver wire, hammered copper wire as well as woven brass wire. The feathers are beautifully colorful and the mixed metals set them off stunningly. This pendant makes me think of the banding done to identify wild ducks. It measures 3.75 X 1 inch.
I strung this pendant on a 24 inch adjustable length brass square-linked chain.
Creating Trail Trash jewelry and art with discarded items is one of the ways I contribute to keeping trails clean and unspoiled. When you purchase one of these items you are helping me in my personal endeavors and I thank you!
Trail Trash jewelry takes many different forms, but usually involves items I find along trails or hiking paths - back country, rural and urban. I clean/prepare these items and use them to create unusual yet beautiful necklaces, earrings, bracelets or other works of art.
I have made every effort to eliminate sharp edges, rough areas, and any other imperfections that could cause injury of a person or clothing. It is nearly impossible to remove every bit of these defects so please take care when handing/wearing these items.
