I created this interesting necklace using the bottom of a Fitch's bottle (likely hair oil) circa 1920's through the mid-1940's. I wrapped it in copper wire and strung it on a 21 inch red leather cord that closes with a simple s-hook. The glass portion is 2.5 X 1 inch. With the copper wire the pendant is 2.5 X 2.25 inches. This necklace reminds me of old movies where the men (Clark Gable) had wet looking hair parted on the side and slicked back.
Creating Trail Trash jewelry and art with discarded items is one of the ways I contribute to keeping trails clean and unspoiled. When you purchase one of these items you are helping me in my personal endeavors and I thank you!
Trail Trash jewelry takes many different forms, but usually involves items I find along trails or hiking paths - back country, rural and urban. I clean/prepare these items and use them to create unusual yet beautiful necklaces, earrings, bracelets or other works of art.
I have made every effort to eliminate sharp edges, rough areas, and any other imperfections that could cause injury of a person or clothing. It is nearly impossible to remove every bit of these defects so please take care when handing/wearing these items.
