I created this unusual necklace from 1/2 of a hiking stick rubber tip that I found on the Ozark Highlands Hiking Trail in Arkansas. I lined the inner surface of the rubber tip with down-like feathers. I then created a nest was with sterling silver and copper wire. I placed 3 pearl "eggs" inside and atop perched a silver colored bird. I strung the pendant on a copper ball chain.
The 22 inch ball chain can be cut to fit. Pendant is .75 X 1.5 inches.
Creating Trail Trash jewelry and art with discarded items is one of the ways I contribute to keeping trails clean and unspoiled. When you purchase one of these items you are helping me in my personal endeavors and I thank you!
Trail Trash jewelry takes many different forms, but usually involves items I find along trails or hiking paths - back country, rural and urban. I clean/prepare these items and use them to create unusual yet beautiful necklaces, earrings, bracelets or other works of art.
I have made every effort to eliminate sharp edges, rough areas, and any other imperfections that could cause injury of a person or clothing. It is nearly impossible to remove every bit of these defects so please take care when handing/wearing these items.
